|
Here is a very basic list of faith principles which are important to us: * God, the Creator, is represented in both the Son, Jesus, and theHoly Spirit sent to the church as guide and source of life * Jesus, the Christ, was the living presence of God on earth, and is the resurrected, living Lord of life * The church is the "body of Christ", that is, the living presence ofJesus in the world gathered to honor him and serve in his name * The Bible is the guide for Christian living, revealing God'spurposes and desires for creation. Christians are able to explore and interpret scripture according to their experiences rather than being directed by creedal formulas. * Christian unity in faith is very important. We are notthe only Christians, but Christians only. There is great value and blessing in diversity of faith expression. * Baptism, administered to adults by immersion, is a sign of one'sinclusion in the community of faith and a response to a personal confession that Jesus is Lord. * The Lord's Supper, or Holy Communion, is a weekly celebrationremembering the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus * Every member is called to mission - to do something in thename of Jesus to serve God's people. |
